Kamstrup A/S provides solutions for measurement and remote metering of energy and water consumption in energy companies, the district heating industry and waterworks. The company has a global outlook and is represented in more than 40 countries in Europe and Asia.

When planning to enter the Malaysian and the Philippian markets, the company needed support from the Trade Council to get an overview of the legal requirements to tenders for measure and metering services offered to local utility companies.

Kamstrup’s entry into the Asian market required an understanding of the playing field in the energy and water supply markets in the ASEAN-countries. The Trade Council in Kuala Lumpur produced an overview of the relevant rules and regulations and established contacts to authorities and the industry. Furthermore the embassy assisted with technical export advice on customs, taxes and approvals.

These contacts provided Kamstrup with a useful network allowing the company to start operating in the market.
