Your role

You will have the responsibility for the financial management and accounting at the Embassy. The main tasks and responsibilities as Accountant include, but are not limited to:
- Taking responsibility for financial matters and procedures, accounting systems, quality control and verification of financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Taking responsibility of ensuring compliance with the Danish MFA’s accounting systems and quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Offering professional judgement on financial matters and advising ways of improving work performance.
- Updating, reviewing and documenting the organisation’s financial policies and procedures and implementing instructions as and when received from Danish MFA.
- Producing the quarterly management accounts and other reports as required by the management.
- Coordinate and assist in the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and reports.
- Proactively develop new procedures to ensure compliance with all internal processes.
- Carrying out daily routine task of accounting, as necessary (routine entries/payments etc.).
- Prepare and manage payrolls.
- Handling of payments.
- Ensuring compliance with local external accounting requirements.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
- Any other tasks as assigned by the management.
Your profile
We are looking for an open minded, positive, flexible and enthusiastic team player with an eye for quality and efficiency in your daily work and with the capability to deliver tangible results. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
- Preferred university degree or equivalent in a relevant field (higher education).
- Strong and well-documented competences in financial management and accounting, including 5-10 years of accounting experience.
- Familiar with accounting software and quickly adaptable to using new IT systems, whereas experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV is a plus.
- Focused on compliance and comfortable operating in a highly regulated environment.
- Self-driven, good interpersonal skills, result-oriented approach, and high drive to succeed in your own and the team’s projects.
- High proficiency in English and Bahasa, while proficiency in Danish is a plus.
- International and/or cross-cultural experience is a plus but not a requirement.
